The story thus far: Jack loves Will, Will loves Jack, but Will thought he lost Jack because the dread pirate Nagaraj, Jack’s evil former captain, joined forces with Norrington and attacked the settlement on the Isla de Muerta. There was a terrible battle, and Will fled up a cliff in an attempt to draw Nagaraj away from the fight. Jack followed, and they ended up on the watch hill, Norrington met them and threatened them until Elizabeth bashed him on the head with a bloody great stick. Nagaraj threw a knife into Elizabeth’s thigh, successfully distracting Will, and fought with Jack. Norrington woke up and realised that he’d been double-crossed, but before he could do anything about it, Jack went over the cliff... and everyone was convinced he was dead, including him. He had a vivid image of his future with Will, their grown children and long, happy life together, but he woke up in the jail in Port Royal awaiting execution, right after he met Will, much to his disappointment. Believing his relationship with Will to be nothing but a fantasy, he was ready to give up and die, except it wasn’t a fantasy. Aocmoilhuicpa, the randy heathen god, had conjured a huge wave to catch Jack before he hit the rocks below and carry him to the Black Pearl. And there he lies, hovering between life and death, with only the love of Will Turner to pull him back from the brink... which Will does in a lovely, cheeky fashion. Now, all Jack has to do is recover from his head injury.
